Procurement
The correct design documentation that achieves the objectives of a project, together with appropriate contract conditions mitigates risk for our clients. Our experience in developing detailed scopes of services and to negotiate with consultants and contractors when engaging and procuring them for our projects, ensures our clients risks are suitably apportioned prior to contract execution.
Construction Superintendency
As your representative during a construction, demolition or civil works project we administer the contract to ensure all party’s obligations are performed.
We analyse and certify claims for payment, variations, extensions of time and completion acting independently and impartially. As your agent, we also ensure that we act in your best interest in providing direction to the contractor for the best project outcome.
Defects Management
Closing out a project with regards to defective work is a process which requires a proactive approach by all parties prior well in advance of the date for Practical Completion. We support the contractor’s processes while also undertaking our own independent review of the works. This places our clients in a strong position to ensure the works are closed out prior to taking possession and not having to delay moving in or finalising settlements at a stage in the process when the financial exposure is often at its highest.
Contracts Advice
When entering into any project the contract conditions need to align with the clients interests and risk profile, in balance with the contractors program, tabled price and tender-stage promises. The contract conditions with regards to payment terms, variations, time extensions, final handover and payments, and defect close out are important to get right prior to executing. We review and provide balanced advice on building contracts prior to our clients executing and therefore locking away both parties expectations and responsibilities and setting the foundations for a successful project.
Remediation Management
As buildings age, it becomes necessary to carefully plan remediation, beyond planned maintenance, to forecast defective or failing works that can be rectified before their failures compound and create further issues. Catalyst have successfully planned and managed several building remediation projects to the satisfaction of owners corporations, owners and strata managers alike.
Catalyst have also worked with companies like CSR, managing on their behalf the remediation and rehabilitation of contaminated land, coordinating through a myriad of authority departments and conflicting requirements, and managing the site operations to ensure ongoing efficiencies and safety.
